This lovely little painting is of a beautiful swan on the lake. A bit more unusual for me as I rarely paint much background, but this swan has been
painted by layering a mixture of
washes and building up the background. By doing this I was able to leave the white paper to show up the swan, which in turn was given some subtle details and shading to make him come alive.
Painted on smooth, acid free heavy watercolour paper.
Measurements: approx. 12 x 17 cm plus a few cm spare for framing purposes.
